💭 My two cents: We're still in the early innings of the preventative healthcare movement, and we're seeing more adopters of companies like this.

Perfeqt gives you biomarkers on your health. All you have to do is pee on a stick.

There are other biomarker testing tools like this, but most of them require a person to wear a device or tracker in order to get that information. This type of solution makes it easier for the average person to adopt the product, but the question we have is whether or not the information is as good what you would get from the more obtrusive method.

Evvy 🩺

💭 My two cents: I've written about this before, and maybe it's just because of my age, but I think we're in a boom cycle for women's health-tracking products.

Evvy sells vaginal microbiome testing kits, and they sell tracking software on the back of that to help women see how treatments and behaviors affect their microbiome. It has been built with the help of leading OB-GYNs, and the prescription is delivered straight to your door (I'm a big fan of companies making sensitive purchases more convenient like this).

I'm new to this space, so I still need to study competition risk. Another risk for any of these fertility products is the customer lifetime value since the window of opportunity for a product like this is smaller than other CPG products.

Paradigm 📊

💭 My two cents: Cortisol impacts almost every biological process in your body. It can be the reason you can’t keep weight off, have sleep issues, or it could impact your fertility, autoimmune and cardiovascular health, and how quickly you age.

Paradigm has an app and creates saliva test kits that you can use to track your cortisol levels in real time. They include a detailed program that helps each customer optimize their cortisol levels and improve their metabolic health.

I think we're still in the early adoption phase of things like this, but I see them playing a larger role in the next 5-10 years. I worry about any D2C app, and I would also have questions around their supply chain stability since they will need to manage that for the saliva kits. The company would also need to create a new habit for the consumer which is always easier said than done.
