Why we're bullish on the company building human-in-the-loop agents

Hello đź‘‹

AI agents are here to stay, and we are seeing more companies attempt to replace employees with agents and other usage-based products that promise the ability to fully replace the capabilities of a human.

We have a different opinion that some other investors, we believe that fully replacing humans is dystopian, and we believe that the best outcomes are created by having humans in the loop.

That’s why we’re excited about HumanLayer.

HumanLayer provides an API and SDK for “human-in-the-loop” workflows in AI applications. In other words, it lets AI agents call on human assistance when they are about to make high-stakes decisions, ensuring critical actions get human approval or feedback before execution.

This enable AI systems to achieve greater autonomy safely—agents can operate “headlessly” in the background while automatically involving humans only when necessary.

HumanLayer’s platform integrates with existing AI models (including large language models) and communication channels (Slack, email, etc), making it easy for developers to add oversight without reinventing the wheel.
