📶 Mastra Investment Memo: The TypeScript Agent Framework
Why we like the latest YC company that helps you productize your AI agents
Hello 👋
We’ve officially entered the era of AI agents, and as companies come under pressure to create more output with lower headcount, we think it creates enormous opportunities for companies like Mastra.
Most AI agent companies we have seen sit at the application layer; they are essentially a widget, and the companies that sell them are selling a cost-saving solution. Mastra sits a level above that, and they sell to builders looking to prototype and productize their own agents.
Our general belief is that it is incredibly difficult to commercialize any type of agent across an industry, and and every organization has its own complexities. Instead, we have found that many teams within organizations would rather build their own agent if the right tooling is there for them to do so.
Mastra provides that level of tooling, specifically built for JavaScript developers.
We’ve broken down more on the:
Product and functionality
Market overview and opportunity
Team and talent inflows
Competition and differentiation
And more general thoughts
Here is our full memo on the opportunity …
